Problem Overview
SagePrice is a mobile application designed to help Oil Marketing Companies (OMCs), station managers, and fuel distributors in regions like Ghana and Nigeria easily capture, track, and manage real-time petroleum product prices (AGO – Automotive Gas Oil and PMS – Premium Motor Spirit).
The app simplifies price reporting with quick data entry, photo evidence upload, and a clean dashboard for viewing historical and current pricing across multiple stations.
The Challenge
- Manual price reporting via spreadsheets or paper is error-prone and time-consuming.
- Lack of visual proof (photos) makes verification difficult.
- No centralized, mobile-friendly system for field staff to update prices quickly.
- Poor visibility into pricing history and trends across locations.
- Complicated forms that slow down users working in busy fuel stations.
Project Goals
- Create a fast, intuitive mobile experience for field price capture.
- Support image upload for verification and accountability.
- Design a clean dashboard with clear pricing cards.
- Make data entry simple while maintaining accuracy.
- Provide good empty states and progressive feedback (upload progress).
Design Process
I focused on speed, simplicity, and reliability — critical for users working in high-pressure environments like fuel stations. The design uses a clean, professional interface with red accents (energy/fuel theme), large touch targets, and clear visual feedback.
Key Design Decisions:
- Bottom navigation for core flows (Home, Add Price, My Account)
- Progressive disclosure in forms
- Prominent photo upload with real-time upload progress
- Card-based pricing list for easy scanning
- Strong empty state design to guide first-time users
